Still time to take advantage of free summer bus rides for your kids.
VRT's Youth Ride Free pass is available through August 31, giving anyone 18 or under unlimited free rides on any VRT bus route across the Treasure Valley. That includes Boise, Garden City, Meridian, Nampa, and Caldwell. All you need to do is sign up online or in person at a VRT Customer Service desk.
Passes are free and so is the ride. There are a lot of popular spots along VRT routes, like parks, the mall, city pools, and thrift stores. It's a great, safe way for teens to explore the city and for families to skip a few car trips this summer.

It's a San Fermin-inspired pub crawl through bars like the Basque Center, Leku Ona, Tom Grainey's, Cactus, Pengilly's, and Silly Birch. Wear your whites with red belts and scarves, tackle a fun activity at each stop, and finish the night back on the Block dancing with Kalimotxo Cowboys. βDarknessCon Boise is happening at Expo Idaho. It's the 6th annual celebration of all things horror, haunts, and pop culture. Expect a full day of vendors, artists, immersive workshops, panels, a film festival, and hands-on make & takes. Some of the wildest stories in Idaho history happened right here in Boise
A man convicted of killing 17 people eventually built a cottage outside the prison walls and lived there until he died at 88. A woman suspected of poisoning four husbands escaped, disappeared for 15 months, then came back and served out her sentence. A one-legged member of Butch Cassidy's gang climbed to the top of a cell house and jumped off. All of this happened at the Old Idaho Penitentiary, which operated right here in Boise for 101 years.
