SPONSORED BY BOISE CONTEMPORARY THEATER

A Comedy. Until It Isn't.

Boise Contemporary Theater is presenting the world premiere of AJAX, a darkly comic spy thriller set poolside in 1953 Tehran, written by Habib Yazdi and directed by Kareem Fahmy. Running April 22–May 9.

It's a hot summer when a clean-cut American arrives at a peaceful North Tehran villa. Kambiz, the gardener and pool boy, sees an opportunity. What unfolds next is equal parts seductive and damning — a story where a swimming pool becomes a nation, tennis becomes oil politics, and politeness becomes warfare. You've never seen the 1953 CIA-backed coup look quite like this.

You have a few chances to see it: Preview nights April 22–24 are $28 for all seats. Pay What You Want on Wednesdays (April 22 & May 6). Opening Night is April 25 with an after-party to follow.

Shows run Wed–Sat at 7pm, with Saturday matinees at 2pm.
