Dinner Club: new dates, plus ones & afterparty upgrades

Hi Reader,

I have a few exciting updates about From Boise Dinner Club✨

A second April dinner in a new neighborhood

We’re adding a second dinner on April 30, and for the first time, we’re leaving downtown Boise! This dinner will be held on the Boise Bench. As you may know, the Bench is home to some amazing ethnic restaurants and excellent bars (slightly divey, but in the best way). I’m excited to hopefully seat you at a new-to-you restaurant with new friends.

Heads up for past Dinner Club attendees: because the restaurants on the Bench are more spread out, you will likely need to drive to the afterparty location. Plan your dinner drinks accordingly!

We'll be adding more dates + locations for May, June, and July soon. If you have suggestions for neighborhoods/areas outside of downtown Boise where we should host Dinner Club, reply let me know!

Afterparty upgrades

Dinner Club attendees have noted that the afterparty locations haven’t been ideal for mingling, and I hear you. Here’s what’s changing:

  • For the April 13 dinner, we’re working on renting a private space in downtown Boise just for Dinner Club attendees.
  • For the April 30 dinner on the Bench, we’ll have a dedicated section at the afterparty location so you will know where to find Dinner Club people.

Thank you for the honest feedback as we get Dinner Club up and running. It genuinely helps me make this experience better for everyone and I really appreciate it.

More men needed

I never thought I’d be saying something like this but here it goes: we need more men at Dinner Club.

Again, this is not a dating event. But we’re seeing about 75% women sign up and we’ve heard from both men and women that they’d love more gender balance at their tables.

(And if you are looking to date and want me to organize a dating event — let me know. I’m just here to create things for you!)

Plus ones are here

This is the one I’ve gotten the most questions about. You can now bring a friend or partner to Dinner Club.

Here’s how it works:

  • Complete the questionnaire as usual.
  • At the top right, you’ll see the option to add a +1.
  • Fill out their details and pay for both seats together.
  • You’ll be seated with your plus one.

A note on seating: by default, we will try to seat plus-one pairs together at the same table. What we really work to avoid is two individuals ending up at a table with two couples (surprise blind date… yikes). This is a new feature so please let me know if you have thoughts or questions!

One last thing

Thank you so much to everyone who has come to Dinner Club. I am so happy and excited about this new part of From Boise. I think we need community and connection and fun times with fellow humans more than ever and I’m so thrilled that Dinner Club can be a place for that ❤️

As always, if you have questions or thoughts just reply to this email.

With love,

Marissa
