Bogus Basin Mountain Report

Due to the heat wave and near-record high temperatures in the area this week, the Bogus Basin team anticipates this Sunday, March 22nd to be the last day of winter operations.

Soak up the sun & celebrate the season at the Bogus Basin Meltdown Party! Head to the mountain for a day of festivities, with live music, games in the base area, a costume party and more! β˜€οΈ

Lifts spin until 10 pm on Saturday, and 4:30 pm on Sunday, March 22nd.

Kids Book Day at Dee’s Ice Cream Trolley

  • ​Dee's Ice Cream Trolley is hosting Kids Book Day from 11am–2pm. Dee's Ice Cream Trolley and Curbside Books are teaming up for a trolley takeover on 13th. Browse kids books and enjoy handmade ice cream. Donate 5+ books and the first 10 donors get a $5 gift card and anyone who buys a book gets a free waffle cone. It's free to attend!

It’s a free interactive workshop facilitated by Shannon McGuire, exploring personal narratives, cultural influences, and lived experiences through writing exercises and group discussions. It’s free!

Friday, March 20

  • ​Not Your Granny’s Square Dance! is happening at the IOA Hall (3401 Brazil St, Boise) from 7–10pm. It’s a fun, energetic square dance with a live old time stringband music, led and taught by festive callers. No experience, special attire, or partner needed. Tix are $15, kids under 13 are free.
  • ​Boise Art Happening is taking place at Boise Contemporary Theater at 7:30pm. It’s a bohemian extravaganza of live music, spoken word poetry, and storytelling featuring Blake Shields, Bernard C. Bayer, Eilen Jewell, and friends. Tix are $18.87.
  • ​Gather & Paint: Pet Portraits for a Cause is happening at Lenses & Brushes in downtown Boise from 6–8:30pm. It’s a guided acrylic painting class where you’ll paint a portrait of your own pet. No experience needed and all materials provided. Tix are $65 for one pet and $85 for two pets. All proceeds the Idaho Humane Society.

  • ​Boise Bicycle Project Kids Bike Sale is happening at BBP (1027 S Lusk St.) on Fri 11am–6pm and Sat 11am–5pm. Find ready-to-ride kids bikes on a sliding scale from $25–$75. Pay what works for your family. Each bikes comes with a helmet, light, and lock. Bikes fit kids roughly ages 4–11. First come, first served!

  • ​Boise Spring Home Show is happening at Expo Idaho in Garden City. The hours are Friday 5–9pm, Saturday 11am–6pm, and Sunday 11am–4pm. There's over 200 displays covering landscaping, remodeling, kitchen and bathroom ideas. Tix $7 adults, $6 seniors, kids 12 and under free.

Saturday, March 21

  • ​Boise Punk Flea Market is happening at The Shredder from 12-5pm. It's free to attend and all ages!
  • ​Ostara Spring Equinox Celebration at Manitou Dog Park from 1–3pm. Hosted by Treasure Valley Witches, gather to celebrate the spring equinox with a fairy door craft, egg hunt, and communal potluck. Bring a dish to share! It's free!

Sunday, March 22

  • ​YogaPop YogaQi Class at Edwards Greenhouse from 9:30–11am. It's a weekly class blending yoga, stretch, Qi Gong, chakra alignment, meditation, and a mini sound bath. $20 donation.

  • ​Lectures by Lushes: A Drunken Lecture Series is happening at White Dog Brewing from 8–9:30pm. It’s Ted Talks meets Drunk History with smart people teaching about fascinating topics while they are drunk. Topics this month include: All The Places We’ve Bombed, WTF is Insurance, Napoleon Bonaparte Defeated by Rabbits, A History of Our Solar System, and How Pinups Won the War. What a lineup!
