Happy almost weekend! St Patrick's Day is next Tuesday but the parties are starting this weekend. Also in case you missed it, we have some Dinner Club news:

  • We have two dinners in April and a new neighborhood: Downtown Boise Dinner on April 13 and Boise Bench Dinner on April 30. Book your seat here.

Bogus Basin Mountain Report

Happening this weekend – Happy Hour in La Cumbre Taqueria, Guided Snowshoe Tours, and a Spoon Whittling Guided Nature Program!

Looking for a fun Spring Break camp for your kiddos? Bogus Basin’s Environmental Education team and the City of Boise are hosting a STEM Snow Camp! Campers ages 9 - 12 will explore the mountain on snowshoes using games and hands-on activities to introduce STEM concepts and deepen their understanding of the environment. Spaces are limited!

Where to find the bagpipes

St Paddies is next Tuesday and celebrating in Boise is not complete until you see one of our local bagpipe bands do their thing. There's lots of opportunities to see them.

  • Boise Firefighters Pipes & Drums Saint Patrick’s Pub Crawl is happening from 3-8:30pm. Here’s the schedule:
    • 3pm at The Harp (1435 N. Eagle Rd.)
    • 4:30pm at Bear Island Brewing (1620 N. Liberty St.)
    • 6pm at O'Michael's (2433 Bogus Basin Rd.)
    • 6:30pm at Highland's Hollow (3455 Harrison Hollow Ln.)
    • 7:30pm at McCleary's Orchard (604 N. Orchard St.)
    • 8:30pm at McCleary's State (9155 W. State St.)

Saturday, March 14 – Tuesday, March 17

  • Lost Grove Brewing St. Paddy's Weekend is happening at the La Pointe location through Tuesday. Enjoy $5 green beer, $9 Paddy Poppers, $4 Shamrock Snacks, and Reuben sandwiches and pizza all weekend.
  • Payette Brewing has green beer, games, and more all weekend. Plus a visit from the Boise Highlander Bagpipe Band on Saturday at 3:15pm.
  • Quinn’s annual St. Patrick’s Days Bash is kicking off Saturday. There’s drink and food specials, green beer, and live performances by the Boise Highlander Bagpipers on Saturday at 7pm and 9pm. Events happening each day through Tuesday.

Saturday, March 14

  • The YMCA St. Patrick’s Day Run and Leprechaun Loop is happening at Julia Davis Park on Saturday, March 14. Three race options: the Leprechaun Mile, the 5K, and the 5 Mile River Dash. Registration is $30 for the mile and $35 for the 5K or 5 Mile. Heads up: prices go up after February 27!
  • High Desert Harley-Davidson St. Patrick’s Day Party is happening from 12–3pm. It’s a free St. Paddy’s celebration with $1 green beer, hourly giveaways, a live bagpipe and Irish dance performance by the Boise Highlanders at 1pm, and Right Side of the Boat Fish & Chips food truck.
  • The Bishops’ House is hosting a Saint Patrick’s Day Dinner from 6–8pm. It’s an Irish-themed dinner celebration with fiddlers, dancers, poems, and songs.

Sunday, March 15

  • St. Patrick’s Pub Crawl Nampa is happening from 11am–4pm. It’s a downtown Nampa bar crawl hitting Swirl, Syringa, Pub and Putt, and Whiskey River, with food trucks, music, a costume contest, drink specials, and prizes. 21+

Tuesday, March 17

  • Famici Winery is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Wine Tasting at Swirl Wine Shop & Lounge (114 13th Ave S, Nampa) from 4–7pm. It’s a complimentary tasting featuring pours from Idaho’s Famici Winery, with a free Guinness glass for the first 25 guests and complimentary Irish stew.
  • Tavern at Eagle Island is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day party from 11am–9pm. There’s live bagpipers from the Boise Highlanders, Irish food specials including Wagyu corned beef and colcannon, green beer, and premium whiskey.
  • Black Dog Bar St. Patrick’s Day Party is happening at 420 N Orchard starting at 3pm. Irish drink specials including $3 green beer, $4 Guinness, $5 Jameson and Tullamore Dew, and $6 Irish Car Bombs and Irish Mules.
  • Telaya Wine Co St. Paddy’s Day Pop-Up Supper Club is happening from 6–8pm. Enjoy a four-course Irish-inspired dinner by Terroir, featuring elevated takes on classic Irish flavors with wine pairings included. Tix are $69.82 (wine club members $60).

  • ChairHoops Wheelchair Basketball Tournament is happening at the Fort Boise and Borah High School from March 12 – March 14. It’s an all-abilities wheelchair basketball tournament and fundraiser for Boise Parks & Rec’s Adaptive Recreation program. Teams are 10 male and/or female players and each team is guaranteed 3 games.

Friday, March 13 – Sunday, March 15

  • Monster Jam is happening at the Ford Idaho Center. It’s a family-friendly event featuring massive monster trucks competing in racing, freestyle stunts, donuts, and skills challenges. Fans can also check out pre-show Pit Parties to see the trucks up close and meet the drivers. Kids under age 2 are free!

Friday, March 13 – Saturday, March 21

  • LED is performing Look, Mom! is happening at The Dixon on March 13, 14, 18, 19, 20, 21. It’s a haunting and humorous theatrical piece inspired by French clown traditions, blending breathtaking movement, live original music, and vivid sound and shadow to explore the human longing to be seen. Friday, March 13 – Sunday, March 22

  • Cemetery Tours at the Old Idaho Penitentiary are happening March 13-22 with guided tours at 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6pm. It’s a guided walking tour of the prison’s rarely seen cemetery, exploring the stories of incarcerated individuals and their final moments. Self-guided prison exploration included. Tix are $15 per person or 2 for $25. Recommended for ages 13+

Saturday, March 14

  • Family Second Saturday: Curing Idaho’s Boredom is happening at the Idaho State Museum from 12–3pm. It’s a drop-in family event exploring the history of optical illusions and vintage penny arcades, with a craft to make and take home. It’s free with museum admission!
  • 2:59, a new film by Kuna, Idaho filmmaker Kody Newton is premiering at the Egyptian Theatre at 6:30pm. It’s the worldwide debut of a cinematic thriller based on a true story of possession. The narrative of “2:59” stems from unsettling 2012 real-life events experienced by the film’s Director of Photography, Ryann Race. The concept for the film crystallized during a drive home from a film shoot when Race recounted these events to Newton, with the script being penned shortly after. Tix are $26.89.

Sunday, March 15

  • The 42nd Annual Capitol Rotunda Art Show, presented by the Idaho Watercolor Society is happening at the Idaho State Capitol’s 4th Floor Rotunda, from 7am–7pm starting March 15 through March 28. It’s a free public exhibition showcasing watercolor paintings by artists from across Idaho. You can vote for your favorite piece in the Voters’ Choice Award and even purchase original artwork to take home. There’s also an Artists’ Reception on Saturday, March 21 from 11am–2pm. It’s free!

Wednesday, March 18

  • Hops ‘N Homes first time homebuyers class is happening at Barbarian Downtown at 6pm. Enjoy a free beer and a chill class teaching you everything you need to know about the homebuying process. It’s totally free (even the drink)! 21+
  • Puzzle Night at Rediscovered Books is happening from 6:30–8pm. It’s a casual evening of brain-teasing puzzles, book chat, and socializing with puzzles, beverages, and snacks provided, plus a puzzle swap if you want to trade old ones. Tix are $7.

  • Saturday Afternoon Tea is happening at The Lively Boise. It’s a charming afternoon tea featuring organic teas from Smith Teamaker paired with handmade sweet and savory bites from the culinary team. They have gluten free too! Don’t wait to book a seat!

  • Femme Fatale Monthly Comedy Show is happening at Liquid Laughs from 8–10pm. It’s an openly feminist comedy show hosted by Krystal Moore, with rotating local comedians. Tix are $22.94. 21+
